Poker Literature

As all fans of Unibet casino will know, ever since Doyle Brunson penned Super/System, the poker community has flocked to the penned thoughts of the game's best players.

Doyle's seminal work inspired a generation of players to take a different, more aggressive approach to the game, and shun the "only bet if you have it" mentality of the old school.  The book contained a range of topics, including Stud Poker, Draw Poker and No Limit Texas Hold'em. However, it was the latter section, written by Doyle himself, which influenced a generation.

While Doyle's book broke the mould in the early days of poker, in more recent times the works of Dan Harrington have become essential reading for anyone wanting to improve their game.

A collection of three books, Harrington on Hold'em introduced a number of concepts that redefined player's thoughts about the game. Most influential was the concept of M which defines the ratio between your stack and the cost of each orbit of the button. The application of this theory revolutionised the way tournament players managed their stack and lead to a new era in bubble strategy.

Over the last few years eBooks have become the medium of choice for many poker players, especially those who come from an online background. Probably the most high profile offering came from two high stakes players, Cole "CTS" South and Tri "SlowHabit" Nguyen. Their eBook, entitled Let There Be Range, sold for over $1,500 when it was first released and transformed many average players into world class players.

It's safe to say that in the development of poker and poker strategy, as well as Unibet odds, the literary offerings by some of the game's greats have been decisive. Indeed, while poker training sites offering strategy videos have begun to dominate the market, there's still a great demand for high quality poker books.
