Poker Etiquette

If you’re planning to visit a bricks and mortar casino for a session of poker, bear in mind that you will be required to adhere to a set basic guides we refer to as poker etiquette.  With the spit and sawdust history of the game, it can come as a surprise that you need to behave in a certain manner but perhaps when everyone is armed, it makes sense to be polite. The following guidelines will help you:
*  Always speak clearly so the dealer and other players know if you are calling, raising, checking or folding.  You shouldn’t have to repeat yourself.
*  Keep you’re playing area tidy – this means keep only your chips in front of you, everything else (phone, cigarettes) should be stashed somewhere else.
*  Only act when it’s your turn.  Making it obvious that you’re going to fold before you turn can give an unfair advantage to a player who would not have received it.
*  Make sure you know the rules – if you don’t then spend some time at a beginner’s table before mixing it with the regular players.
Ultimately, just behave as you would in any situation, giving due care and
consideration to your environment and those around you.
